Notice on Refunding the Down Payment for Hotel Reservations of Relevant Scholars

Dear Participants of the Congress,

Due to the postponement of the 16th International Congress of IUAES, the China Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences (CUAES) has decided, upon thorough considerations, to refund the down payment for hotel reservation in full to the scholars who had made their reservations earlier. The detailed requirements are as follows:  

I.   The Target Group
The refunding service is for those scholars who had been invited by CUAES to attend the Congress, and have made their hotel reservations in Kunming City and paid the down payment before May 13, 2008.

II.   The Scope of Refunding
The scope of refunding is limited to the down payment for hotel reservations in Kunming City for the period of July 13 to 24, with the purpose clarified as “for attending the Congress.”

III. The Methods of Refunding
i.   In case that the hotel you reserved is among the 16 hotels recommended by the Congress, please contact the hotel directly to make claims for refunding. You may be required to provide the payment receipts/invoices and relevant documents issued by the Hotel in accordance with its regulations. The hotel will refund the down payment to you in full upon confirmation of your identity as a participant invited by the Congress.
ii.   In case that the hotel you reserved is not among the 16 hotels recommended by the Congress, please contact the Reception Center of Kunming Organizing Committee first. You should provide the Letter of Invitation to you and the relevant payment documents issued by the hotel to make claims for refunding. The Reception Center will coordinate with the hotel for you and help facilitate the refunding of your down payment for reservations.

IV.   The Time for Processing Refunding
Please be informed that the time for processing refunding claims is limited firmly to the period of July 1 to 30, 2008.
